Faith-filled women in the workplace often face unique challenges and struggles when pursuing their goals, even when using their God-given gifts and talents to make a difference in the internet business world. But, through it all, it’s always important to remember that there is a place and a need for what you have to offer.
Navigating the ups and downs of the business world can be tough. While staying true to your values so you reach your goals, it’s important to have courage and confidence to make wise decisions in order to be productive on your own terms.
However, it’s possible to fall into a trap of doing things that actually hinder your success. One of those things can be from your own wrong thinking.
Here are 3 things to NEVER do as you pursue your goals using your God-given gifts and talents:
1. Never compare yourself to others.
“We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves.”2 Corinthians 10:12a
It’s easy to get caught up in the comparison trap, especially in online business situations where competition in some niches seems high. But remember that you are uniquely created by God with your own set of skills, experiences, and talents to use in the marketplace. Don’t worry about comparisons with others but instead, have the confidence to make wise decisions in your business. Find creative ways to develop your niche. One way to do this is to highlight your unique way of presenting products and services. Embrace your individuality and focus on presenting what’s unique about how you do tings in the business world.
2. Never believe the lies of imposter syndrome.
“We all have a purpose God intentionally designed for us to live out” Eph. 2:10a.
Some levels of self-doubt is not unusual in business, especially when entering a niche market with a lot of competition. But remember, God has equipped you with everything you need to succeed. Your specific life experiences and set of skills and talents are the foundation for you to create a business that differs from others even if it’s in the same niche area as others. You are not an imposter; you are a confident, capable woman who has her own purpose that can make a difference in the world. Don’t let imposter syndrome take you away from your goals or make you feel less than competent to achieve them.
3. Never isolate yourself.
“Unfriendly people care only about themselves; they lash out at common sense.” Proverbs 18:1
It can be tempting to try to go it alone in the internet business world, but you weren’t meant to journey through life alone. It’s important to have others to share ideas with in order to expand your knowledge and abilities. Isolating yourself limits your ability to understand what people in the marketplace are looking for. Surround yourself with a community of like-minded women who share your values and can offer a broad range of support and encouragement. You’ll want to keep updated on new trends in the internet business arena that affect the growth of your business. Working with others expands your marketing abilities and lets everyone become stronger not only builds your skills but can open new marketing channels to move your products and services.
So, my dear sisters, as you navigate the challenges and triumphs of the workplace, remember that you are not alone. Do what you know, highlight your unique skills and talents, and stay focused on your business goals. Remembers that you are uniquely created by God with a purpose to share with others in the marketplace. Always be your authentic self putting forth your best ideas and efforts with confidence.
As you embrace your individuality, believe in yourself, and surround yourself with a supportive community, you’ll find there is a place and a need for what you have to offer. Plus working with others expands your thinking and partnership opportunities.
You’ve got this!
