“Let not the work that you have in hand be tedious to you. Be fervent in the Spirit. Apply yourselves to the time.” Romans 12:11
Waiting to do tomorrow what you should be doing today never works. Because you never get to live in tomorrow. Once tomorrow gets here – it’s Today. Waiting for tomorrow to do what you should have started today will only delay what needs to get done.
It’s so easy to get into the habit of saying “Wait” or “I’ll do that later” instead of taking up the mantel of responsibility and just getting on with doing the task at hand today. This isn’t saying to ignore certain facts:
- The timing must be right to pursue the steps you need to take.
- You might get side-tracked by something more pressing.
- Something unexpected might take precedence over the task at hand
Or some other interference with your planned forward movement might get in the way. But once those have gone and you know the time is now, it’s time to just get on with it!
